Anthony O. Nicolette, 89, a physical education instructor, died Thursday in La Grange Memorial Hospital. Mr. Nicolette was involved in amateur athletics and served as the past president of the Amateur Athletic Union. Mr. Nicolette worked at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School and the old St. Michael`s High School on the North Side until his retirement in 1966. He was director of the Chicago Boys Club and an administrative service coordinator for the athletic department at the College of Du Page. He was a track and field official at the Summer Olympics from 1964 to 1976. He was a longtime resident of Chicago and lived in Downers Grove for the past 35 years. Mr. Nicolette is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Robert and Jack; five grandchildren; five sisters; and one brother. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan, 4343 Main St., Downers Grove. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary`s Catholic Church, 4809 Douglas St., Downers Grove.
