Thomas F. Ryan, 66, a native of Winnetka and longtime resident of Northbrook, died last week in his Madison, Wis., home. Mr. Ryan, who had been semi-retired since 1989, held sales and management positions at Sears, Roebuck and Co.; The American Weekly; S&H Green Stamps; and Mattel. A graduate of Northwestern University, Mr. Ryan was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Mr. Ryan lived in Northbrook for 18 years before moving to Lake Geneva, Wis., in 1969. He had lived in Madison since January. He is survived by two sons, David and Michael; three daughters, Carolyn, Elizabeth and Nancy, a Tribune reporter; a brother; a sister; and three granddaughters. A private service will be held Friday.
