Joseph Blitstien, former owner of Highland Park Electric Co., died Friday in Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. Mr. Blitstien, a Skokie resident, worked as an electrician for 60 years and owned Highland Park Electric from 1961 until retiring in 1987. Mr. Blitstien, an Army veteran of World War II, also was a former president of Travelers Protective Association and a member of the B`nai B`rith Sports Lodge, Deborah Boys Club, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 and the Jewish War Veterans. He is survived by two daughters, Ellyn O`Connell and Hope Kellman, and four grandchildren. Services will be held at noon Monday at Shalom Memorial Park, Palatine.
