Mass for Dr. Robert A. Scherer, 59, a Flossmoor dentist, will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, 1131 Douglas Ave., Flossmoor. Dr. Scherer, a former Homewood resident, died Wednesday in South Suburban Hospital. He was a former president of the south suburban branch of the Chicago Dental Society and a member of the American Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Scherer was an Army veteran. He attended the University of Illinois and received his dental degree from Loyola University. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Laurie Kelner and Lisa Ariss; two sons, Nick and Michael; two grandchildren;
his mother; and four sisters.
