On behalf of the six Americans still held cap-tive in Beirut, and for their families, I hope people are aware Terry Anderson has been held longest: since March 16, 1985.
And who remembers Alan Steen (held since Jan. 24, 1987), Edward Tracy
(since Oct. 21, 1986), Tom Sutherland (since June 9, 1985), Joe Cicippio
(since Sept. 12, 1986), Jessie Turner (since Jan. 24, 1987)? These are American citizens, seemingly forgotten by the media and by Washington. Forgotten by the now patriotic masses?
When our embassy in Iran was being held, the national news began each broadcast with ”It`s day X for the hostages.”
I ask you now to remember these fellow Americans. Please don`t abandon them.
