Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As a citizen of Chicago, I find it completely outrageous that a company that is allowed a monopoly position, as Chicago Cable TV is, is allowed to suddenly raise their rates over 23 percent.

This company has shown it has no concern about potential competition by poorly servicing existing customers, such as myself, and by taking advantage of a monopoly with a rate increase they recently, without notice, implemented. Other companies, who face a competitive marketplace, have not raised rates recently due to the difficult recessionary times.

I urge the government of Chicago, and the state of Illinois, to watch the cable industry closer and to allow competition into the market.
