Reed P. Schofield, 17, a 1991 graduate of Glenbrook North High School and a resident of Northbrook, died Saturday in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. He had been in a coma since July 15, when he was the victim of an accident where he worked. In high school, he was an Illinois State Scholar and a member of the school`s varsity cross-country and track team. He had intended to study engineering at Michigan State University in the fall. Survivors include his parents, Paul and Marita; a grandmother, Gisela Metz; two brothers; and a sister. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Norbert`s Catholic Church, 1809 Walters Ave., Northbrook.
