Your reporter Lisa Anderson got her literary allusions backwards when she wrote on July 20 about ”The sort of self-righteous sneer that might have curled Abraham`s lips at the mention of Sodom” (”Toughest sell in NY? The Big Apple”). If anyone sneered back then, it was probably God. The Bible depicts Abraham as the compassionate seeker of mercy for others, trying to negotiate with the Almighty over the smallest number of righteous people needed for God to spare the town.
