You`re in the movie theater lobby and feeling parched. Yet by the time you reach your seat, you`re struggling to carry a large soft drink, two candy bars and enough popcorn to feed everyone whose feet you`ve just stepped on.
A case of willpower failure? Maybe. But why not instead blame a video training series that has armed movie-concession vendors with tactics to get you to pop for far more than you intended?
Created by the Chicago-based National Association of Concessionaires, the videos encourage employees to be strategic in unleashing savory scents, and forthright in pushing mondo sizes.
Yet the video claims: ”Everyone wants and needs a drink. We help them decide on larger sizes…. Larger is usually a better value. Then they don`t run out.”
Except maybe of money.
