Would everyone please stop overreacting to the allegations against Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman)?
”Pee-wee`s Playhouse” is one of the finest children`s programs on TV today. I am disappointed that Channel 2 canceled the remaining shows, even if they were reruns. My young children (ages 5 and 2) are entertained by Pee-wee`s antics and also learn an important lesson each week (how it feels to have your feelings hurt, how other people in the world live, etc.). Pee-wee`s Christmas special was wonderful-fortunately, I taped it and we have been able to watch it many times.
Even if the allegations are true, who cares? It had nothing to do with his role on TV or the children who see him in this role. This man is extremely creative. If we took every program whose actors were involved in a scandal off the air, there would be very little TV.
My children and I miss ”Pee-wee`s Playhouse” and hope that it will be back soon. At the very least, I hope it will be available on videotape so we can continue to enjoy him.
