After receiving my real estate tax bill for the second installment, I noticed I had three weeks in which to pay before a penalty on late payment was imposed. This is real efficiency!
However, I have a rebate from my 1988 real estate tax bill due to me from the same department for more than two years since I filed my claim. I doubt that this is an isolated case as is so stated. How could a staff, working eight hours a day, be so far in arrears? I find it hard to believe that Chicago is ”the city that works.”
