I am disappointed in and must take issue over the assertions of Casey Banas, your education writer, in his Sept. 6 piece, ” `Impressions` survived the most challenges.” Banas asserts in the first paragraph that the survey referenced was conducted by a ”nonpartisan Washington-based organization.”
It isn`t until several paragraphs later that the reader is informed this
”nonpartisan” organization is People for the American Way. Possessing and openly promoting a published purpose statement in its membership campaigns, as a liberal activist group, it is no more nonpartisan than the American Eagle Forum, which represents the opposite extreme of the spectrum.
