I read with interest the Sept. 3 letter from Anne Reusche. Ms. Reusche is not alone. I am a certified elementary principal who has two master`s degrees and many years of successful teaching experience. Yet I am required by the state to complete ”Student Teaching” and several other courses in order to become a certified teacher.

Legislators are the last individuals who should decide what is needed to be a great teacher.

Did the new superintendent ever complete his coursework to become state-certified?
