The CTA has again crippled itself with a budget that will be met with service cuts and increased fares. As a daily rider, I now ponder the concept of a decentralized, privately owned transit system, one that might possibly suffer from the efficiency and fare economy that a lack

of bureaucracy can provide.

Philosophically, I think we owe it to the times we live in to reconsider the centralized planning that goes awry around the world and close to home.
