Thank you for the article about the Hull House celebration and their remembrance of Milt Hinton (Sept. 19). It touches me personally for two reasons. First, I was director for 24 years of the church camp in Saugatuck, Mich. It was an outgrowth of a settlement house that had its beginning in 1896 just down the street from Hull House.

But, second, I wish they had remembered another man who had his musical beginning on the piano at Hull House-Art Hodes. He`s 86, but this year he`s played professionally at the Chicago Jazzfest, at Fitzgerald`s, Green Mill and the Rockford Jazzfest.
