The prospect isn`t as bright as in years past in Champaign, with coach Lou Henson only returning two starters.
They`re good ones: sophomore point guard Rennie Clemons and former Simeon star Deon Thomas. But Thomas will be asked to handle more of the scoring load than he`s accustomed to since last year`s leading scorer Andy Kaufmann was declared academically ineligible last month.
Incoming freshmen Robert Bennett (Julian) and Marc Davidson (Aurora Christian) should see ample playing time.
