With seven new players on a 15-man roster, Chicago State coach Rick Pryor figured he`d see some rough spots in practice.
But after four days of workouts, Pryor says he`s been ”pleasantly surprised.”
”We`ve had good practices,” Pryor said. ”The players are hungry, they`re focused.”
The hunger comes from a desire to better the Cougars` 6-22 mark in Pryor`s first season.
The top returnee figures to be 6-5 forward Reggie Burcy, who averaged 17.5 points a game last year.
Artis Culverson, Anthony Barnes and Alfred Stubbs return in the frontcourt, and shooting guard Derrick Van will anchor the backcourt.
