Coach Bob Hallberg was asked to play a game of ”First Impressions” a mere three days into Illinois-Chicago`s preseason basketball practice.
”I`m very excited,” he said. ”We`re undefeated right now. And when the rankings come out this week I expect to be among the top 10 practice teams in the nation.”
How`s sophomore guard Kenny Williams look? ”He`s playing well. He had a good freshman year, and so far it looks like he has accelerated his play even more.”
All-Mid-Continent Conference second team guard and senior Brian Hill?
”He`s Mr. Consistent. This is his fourth year, and he comes to practice and doesn`t miss a beat.”
Sophomore guard Drennon Jones? ”Being a Prop 48, he`s been out of competitive basketball for a year. I just think he needs to get into better shape.”
