The letter from Ed Tybor (Oct. 15) is a good example of why women face harassment in the workplace. Mr. Tybor thought Prof. Hill ”should be flattered to be `hit` upon by a gentleman of Clarence Thomas` intelligence and stature”.
I would have to ask Mr. Tybor how flattered he would feel if a gentleman of Mr. Thomas` intelligence and stature ”hit” on him? And how would he feel if his job and his career were hanging on his response?
Ridiculous? Of course. Mr. Tybor is a man. That makes all the difference. I don`t think the Tribune could have picked a better example of insensitive reaction to sexual harassment.
