I am tired of hearing diehards whining that Harry Caray should stay on as the Cubs broadcaster. Why can`t Harry gentlemanly step down? Steve Stone, a very eligible candidate, must surely wince at each boo-boo made by Caray-and there are many.
Harry was tops in his prime. Now, like a tired old ballplayer, he should give up gracefully. Make room for younger blood-especially one with playing experience.
What I surely will not miss is his disgusting habit of plugging friends, business associates and people whom very few of us know or care about.
