The Illinois Department of Public Health is urging qualified residents to receive free influenza vaccine as part of a national demonstration project.

The project, funded by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Health Care Financing Administration, provides free flu shots from

participating physicians, local health departments, nursing homes and hospitals for those who have Part B Medicare coverage.

All those who have Medicare B coverage have received information about the project.

Those who need more information should contact their local health department or call the state Health Department`s ”flu line,” 1-800-348-1193.
