In reply to Thomas Breen`s letter on gun control, ”Armed with respect”

(Oct. 29), if he had read the article correctly, he would have seen that the number of British cops killed was for a ten-year period, not one year. The number of officers killed in the U.S. was for a one-year period.

Thus we have one British cop killed per year, and we have 51 U.S. cops killed per year. Now that we have the correct numbers, the British way of gun control looks pretty good to me.
