MUSICAL CRUISES It`ll be Dixieland on the Delta Queen and the Big Band sound on the Mississippi Queen when the paddlewheel steamboats begin their 1992 season early next year.
The musical-theme cruises aboard the two boats begin and end in New Orleans, their home port.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra will be aboard the Mississippi Queen as it departs Jan. 31 for a three-day cruise. Big Band trips are for three, four, five and seven nights. Nightly fares range from $160 to $565, per person, double occupancy.
The Dixie Fest trips last three and four days with the first cruise departing Feb. 14. Clarinetist Pete Fountain will entertain on the first two trips. Rates-per person, double occupancy-are $170 to $570 a night.
