John J. Gembara, 77, a longtime Northwest Side resident, died Sunday in Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago. Mr. Gembara was active in the Polish National Alliance and served as secretary of Local Lodge 1084. He was a clerical employee for the organization for about 20 years until he began working with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District in 1964. He served as a clerical worker and then building manager until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Gembara is survived by his wife, Sonia; two daughters, Barbara Kopec and Regina McComb; five brothers; a sister; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Dykla Funeral Home, 3630 W. George St. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Hyacinth Church, 3636 W. Wolfram St.
