Kenneth Vaux, who wrote about suicidal help for the suffering terminally ill (Op-Ed, Nov. 11) forgets that not everyone has his outlook on religion. His conclusion is that God alone is the giver of life, and agony has meaning and ”is therefore a cross that we can and ought to bear.”
I sincerely hope that Professor Vaux gets his wish and suffers the excruciating and unfathomable pain on his way to meet his god. There are a lot of us who do not see that suffering terminal physical pain is the road to heaven.
