The articles accompanying the school report cards uniformly decry the dis-parity in the per-pupil spending rates among schools and attri-bute the disparity in test scores to the differences in spending.

Why was there no analysis of Richland`s, Burnham`s, Center Cass`, Peotone`s or Emmons` scoring in the top 10 despite being among the state`s lowest per-pupil spending districts? Rather than simply ask for more money from the taxpayers, wouldn`t it be wiser to find out how these schools do so well with so little? Even rich taxpayers would like to educate their children better with less money. Let`s ask these schools how they did it.
