The Oakbrook Terrace City Council voted last week to authorize the mayor to enter into an agreement with Du Page County for an Opticom emergency stoplight system at 14th Street and Summit Avenue.

The system is activated by the strobe lights of emergency vehicles as they pass through an intersection. Elmhurst and Oak Brook currently use the system.

The aldermen also approved spending up to $2,000 for the installation of the wiring for the system, since work is now being done on lighting at the intersection.
