Cash commitment: Tribune Broadcasting Co. completed a previously announced investment of $19 million in WPHL-TV, an independent station in Philadelphia owned by Taft Broadcasting Partners Ltd. The investment and exercise of an option to acquire controlling interest are subject to regulatory approval. Tribune Broadcasting, which owns six independent television stations and is a subsidiary of Tribune Co., also would assume a publicly unspecified amount of debt in the deal.
