Schools: Chicago public schools are closed from Dec. 23 until students and teachers return Jan. 6.
Government offices: Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed except for emergency services.
Postal service: No mail delivery Wednesday.
Courts: Federal, state, and circuit courts will be closed Wednesday except for Cook County Holiday Court.
Banks, S&Ls: Closed.
Financial markets: Closed.
Parking: No meter feeding necessary on Christmas.
Transit: Holiday schedules will be in effect.
