Village trustees approved the establishment of an escrow account funded by developers to be used for a study of drainage problems in a 1,000-acre site north of town destined for annexation.
Village planner Peter Waldock told the board Monday night that such studies are needed ”so we know what we`re getting into. There are at least two drainage routes that go through the area, and we want to make sure they`re properly controlled.”
Only one 44-acre unit is being developed, with that builder agreeing to contribute $2,000 to the fund. If the study has not been completed within five years, Mayor Mary Latta said the money would be returned with interest.
