Complications caused by the weather have delayed construction of Mundelein`s final reservoir and pumping station for the Lake Michigan water project.
But engineers insisted Monday night that the delays, caused by rain and cold weather last year, ”will not affect the village`s ability to accept the water when it comes on line” in late spring or early summer.
The station, located near Illinois Highway 176 and Hawley Street, is only 17 percent complete so far, according to a report by Joe Rezek, consulting engineer for the village. But Rezek said work is ”proceeding
satisfactorily.”
Rezek said most of the cement for the tank walls has been poured and the contractor has provided a revised schedule that shows completion by mid-June.
