The Rev. Joseph E. O`Neill, 71, a former principal of Notre Dame High School in Niles and assistant dean of students at DePaul University, died Friday in Chicago. Rev. O`Neill, a 1944 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, was ordained in 1948. He also served as principal at St. Edwards High School in Elgin and Bourgade Catholic High School in Phoenix. He is survived by two brothers and a sister. Mass will be said Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
