As the chief staff person for the village of Robbins, Ill., during the research, siting and filing for permits for the proposed energy recovery facility, I can qualitatively state that all applicable laws, policies and practices were strenuously followed and assured by the mayor and board of trustees for the village.
In addition to fact-finding meetings, community meetings, village council meetings, regional planning meetings, community advisory council meetings, there were numerous in-home visits made to ensure that all interested and/or affected parties were well aware of plans and encouraged to dialogue.
This project was researched, advertised, scrutinized, challenged and finally approved after an exhaustive and unprecedented process.
Finally, all property owners within 250 feet of the facility were notified as to the prospects of selling their property.
