Dissident Chinese journalist Dai Qing has been ”settling in nicely” at Harvard for the second session of the Neiman fellowship program, beginning Jan. 29, a Neiman spokeswoman says. Dai missed the first part because Chinese officials barred her departure. In November, during a state visit, U.S. Secretary of State James Baker intervened on Dai`s behalf after she cut short a spurious out-of-town assignment by her Communist-backed paper and sought out Baker aides at their Beijing hotel.
