A group of educators, business people, government officials, parents and concerned citizens are writing a proposal to plan and design a New American School.
The privately funded venture will award grants of up to $3 million to 20 to 30 community groups nationwide to develop their ideas for a New American School. Everything, from what a curriculum should include to how a school building should be designed, could be included in the proposal.
Residents and parents are invited to express their ideas for a New American School at a meeting from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bensenville Park District Pine Room, 531 S. Church Rd.
