Thanks to Lori Esser`s three-point basket with no time left, the women`s basketball team (4-11 overall) will carry a 2-1 Midwestern Collegiate Conference record to Dayton Thursday. Loyola and Butler were tied at 61 when Esser caught Tracy Chapman`s assist-earning pass and beat the clock and the Bulldogs.
Two women`s track relay foursomes set school records in the weekend University of Chicago Relays. The team of Julie Keller, Kelly Ward, Ellen Gallagher and Amy Wadas ran the 4-x-1,600 relay in 21:29. Amy Nilson, Marion Buckle, Rickie Green and Kate Leyden were clocked in 4:30 in the sprint medley relay.
The men`s track team competes Saturday in the MCC meet at Notre Dame.
