Too many of Streamwood`s bills are being put into the miscellaneous category, according to Trustee William Carlson.
Of the $310,643 worth of bills up for approval by the Village Board Thursday, more than $14,500 worth were listed as miscellaneous expenditures in a staff report.
Some of the expenditures listed had designations providing a hint as to what was purchased, such as $5,481.90 for miscellaneous storm sewer and road materials. Others, such as $2,691.75 for miscellaneous supplies for the Police Department, didn`t give a clue.
Shaking his head, Carlson said, ”If my wife came home and told me she had spent $2,000 on miscellaneous. . . .”
”We`ll work on it,” Finance Director David Richardson said. The word
”miscellaneous,” he said, ”will be stricken.”
The board unanimously approved paying the bills.
