Redskins left defensive end Charles Mann will be charging into the face of Buffalo quarterback Jim Kelly.
Mann, who led the Redskins in sacks with 11 1/2, will be matched against Bills right tackle Howard ”House” Ballard. Listed at 6-6, 325, Ballard will be the biggest man on the field.
BRUCE SMITH VS. JIM LACHEY
Bills right defensive end Bruce Smith will be rushing from the backside of Washington quarterback Mark Rypien.
Smith, hampered all season by a knee injury, will be matched against Redskins left tackle Jim Lachey. Generally considered the best left tackle in football, Lachey gave up one sack all year.
Smith had only 1 1/2 sacks because he played in only 4 1/2 games. His 18 tackles were one fewer than the number of sacks he had in 1990. Smith`s safety against the Giants in last year`s Super Bowl gave the Bills a 12-3 lead.
