Lisle officials have adopted amendments to the village code that are intended to curb alcohol consumption by underage drinkers.
Fines ranging from $200 to $500 can be assessed on violators of the new ordinance, which prohibits adults from allowing underage drinking in their residences or in hotel rooms. Fines also can be imposed on underage drinkers who use altered or false identification cards.
”It`s about time we put our foot down and say we`ve had enough of this and say we have a problem,” said Trustee Barney Neahaus at Monday`s board meeting. ”And we do have a problem, believe me.”
