You already bought the tartan plaid blazer that makes you look like a Catholic schoolgirl. Do you really need something in pink-and-white checks?
– Gingham is not a serious fabric. If you`re going to a country club dance or a weekend at the beach, wear it. If you`re asking for a raise or appearing in court . . . oh, come on.
– Love gingham but afraid it`s a one season fad? Invest in a few casual pieces-skinny pants, shorts, a crop top-or accessories like an umbrella or ballet flats.
– Gingham looks more sophisticated in dark combinations like black and white than it does in baby rattle pastels.
– OK, you`re nuts about gingham and want to wear it to work. Try a slim dress under a solid jacket or Chanel-inspired suit. But no Bardot hair and no picnic basket.
