Ingeborg J. Fredrick, 88, a civic volunteer, died Tuesday in her Wilmette home. Mrs. Fredrick was born in Sweden, came to the U.S. in 1910 and moved to Evanston in 1911, where she lived for 60 years. In 1926, she was awarded First Prize in a worldwide contest sponsored by the Order of Gregg Artists to select the individual who wrote the most beautiful shorthand notes. She was an active member of the Evanston League of Women Voters for many years. She was also an active member of the Parent Teacher Associations at the Oakton School, Nichols School and Evanston Township High School. Mrs. Fredrick attended the University of Colorodo at Boulder. Survivors include a daughter, Natalie; a son, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the William H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette.
