Each time I hear or read about Gov. Edgar and the state budget deficit, it surprises me no one mentions former Gov. Thompson. He`s the one we inherited this mess from in the first place.
If he`d spent less time hunting for antiques and globe-trotting, perhaps Gov. Edgar and the State of Illinois wouldn`t be in such a financial squeeze now.
