Law professor Anita Hill, film director Callie Khouri and ”Backlash”

author Susan Faludi are among 19 women being honored by the Feminist Majority Foundation in Arlington, Va. Eleanor Smeal, Feminist Majority president, says the women made ”extraordinary personal sacrifices for women`s rights.” Other Feminists of the Year: Dr. Frances Conley, Stanford University surgeon; U.S. Reps. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.); Nita Lowey, (D-N.Y.); Patsy Mink, (D-Hawaii); Patricia Schroeder, (D-Colo.); Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.); Jolene Unsoeld (D-Wash.); and delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, (D-Wash., D.C.), who demanded further investigation of then Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas; Sharon Kowalski and Karen Thompson, lesbian rights and disabled rights activists from St. Cloud, Minn.; Janella Sue Martin of Los Angeles, a credit manager who won a $23.3 million settlement in a sex discrimination suit; Naomi Wolf, author of ”The Beauty Myth”; Molly Yard, past president of NOW; Barbara Reynolds, columnist; Dr. Heidi Weissmann, of New York, for aiding female researchers;

and Dawn Munday, a Maryland trucker who fought for a gender-neutral workplace.
