Robert W. Schaefer, 68, chairman of Plibrico Co. and a resident of Skokie, died Friday in his home. Plibrico, a Chicago company, makes refractories, ceramics used to insulate iron-melting ovens and other equipment used in high-heat industries. Mr. Schaefer was past chairman of the Refractory Institute. He was a board member of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke`s Medical Center and past president of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Skokie. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; four sons, Robert Jr., Peter, James and Scott; two grandchildren; his father; and a stepsister. Services will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 16 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7870 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.
