Frank E. White, 72, an engineer at Eastman Kodak Co. in Chicago for 35 years, died Friday in his home. Mr. White, of the Northwest Side, retired from Kodak in 1983. He remained active on the Illinois State Board of Professional Engineers, to which he was appointed in 1976 by Gov. James R. Thompson. Mr. White, a native of Kansas, received his chemical engineering degree from Kansas State University. In 1989, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying awarded him its Distinguished Service Award. Mr. White, who served in the Navy during World War II, joined Kodak shortly after moving to Chicago in 1948. He worked in its processing lab as an engineer and administrator. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; a daughter, Linda Allegretti; two grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Edgebrook Lutheran Church, 5252 W. Devon Ave.
