I know what it is to be hungry, cold, have holes in my shoes and be out of work. I also know the degradation of relief. I have never filed a long income tax form and we paid our way through life. We paid for our children`s education. The very ones who should be reading this won`t.
I do not begrudge anyone in need. I do despise the ones who have been receiving relief in all forms when there were jobs to be had and would not work. Today, some of those still on relief complain that their check will be a few dollars less.
Who do I complain to because the bank now pays me 4 instead of 7 percent and how long will it take to deplete what I have saved? In 1990, $5,000 in medical bills came out of my fixed income and savings, none of which was deductible on income tax.
We need to help those in need, not the lazy greedy who are smart enough to take-if we are dumb enough to give. It`s been the responsible people who have been paying the way all these years for the greedy.
Isn`t it strange that people come here from all over the world and find jobs, but people born here can`t find their way out of bed in the morning to the bus stop? For some it`s a way of life only because they won`t do anything for themselves.
