Sen. Alan Cranston`s sponsorship and defense for the redesign of the tails of U.S. circulating coins shows that Congress is truly in touch with the people.
Both white-collar and blue-collar workers and our unemployed countrymen should be secure in the knowledge that Sen. Cranston and Congress are deliberating on this pivotal issue.
According to Sen. Cranston, we should not be disturbed by this bill because the represen-tatives of the American people are in favor of it. These are the same persons unable to balance the budget or lower the trade deficit, but are able to vote themselves a hefty pay raise. Who says the present legislature has grown distant?
However, I am comforted in the thought that the $300 million the senator said this legislation will generate will be well spent by an ”in touch”
Congress.
