The Community Consolidated School District 89 Education Association, whose members teach in five elementary schools in Glen Ellyn and Wheaton, has been named winner of the Illinois Education Association award recognizing community involvement and professional development.
The teachers union in District 89 will receive the Bob Mercer Memorial Award, named for the late Illinois Education Association official, on March 13 at the state teachers` union`s annual conference in Rosemont.
