Winfield will study traffic speeds on its residential streets to determine whether a reduction from the current 25 and 30 m.p.h. limits would be warranted.
Village engineers Rempe-Sharpe & Associates will also study 26 intersections before the Village Board decides which, if any, need stop signs or other traffic controls.
Engineers will make spot speed checks, count vehicle and pedestrian traffic and study accident histories.
The Village Board has approved costs of the two reports, not to exceed $17,850.
