I was concerned by the Pepsi/Diet Pepsi advertisement on the back page of the Feb. 5 special section about African-Americans.

Below a picture of four black children were the words ”Separate but Equal.” I assumed that the words were referring to Pepsi and Diet Pepsi, but those three words represent to many the call for segregation.

I seem to remember a U.S. Supreme Court decision that said separate but equal was unconstitutional, and I am wondering if anyone at Pepsi or at the Tribune know that. If they know what the words represent, then please tell me what anyone involved with creating or running this advertisement was thinking when those words in that ad were placed in front of them.
